About Melody

Melody recently graduated from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University where she earned a master's degree in harp performance. During her time in Chicago, Melody worked with Professor Marguerite Lynn Williams of the Minnesota Symphony to prepare for a graduate recital given on March 26, 2022. She also played with the Roosevelt University Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, performing solos in music venues such as Ganz Hall and the Chicago Symphony Center.

In May 2020, Melody graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor's degree in harp performance. She was the first (and only) harpist to win the university's concerto competition and perform her concerto with the University of Utah Philharmonia under the direction of Dr. Robert Baldwin. She also was privileged to perform a concerto with the Wasatch Symphony in the spring of 2020. While at the University of Utah, Melody performed with the Philharmonia, Wind Ensemble, Campus Symphony, as well as Salt Lake Symphony. She also performed with the Harp Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Cathryn Clayton. Melody served as president of this group for two years, during which she helped plan concerts, community events, tours, and arrange music for the ensemble.

In addition to university studies, Melody has experience performing for many events. She loves playing background music for dinners and special events, as well as being part of wedding ceremonies and receptions. She also loves teaching! Melody is an excellent teacher because of her caring and empathetic nature. She will meet students where they are and encourage them to thrive.

Besides harp, Melody loves painting, music theory, arranging, and composing.

Melody is always looking for opportunities to connect with her community and other music lovers around her. She will never say no to a great opportunity!
